Just Joomla

I'm pleased to announce that my EZ Autos customers now have access to the recent upgrades which were recently released for the EZ Realty version 6.10.0 version. EZ Autos 6.10.0 now also includes a number of long-awaited new features - including a new image upload system, ability to configure as many images for upload as you want, and incorporation of the core Joomla database translation support.

The new image upload system has resulted in vehicle image data being stored in a separate images table, and this means you'll no longer be restricted to the maximum 24 image upload limit. You'll be able to configure EZ Autos to allow more images to be uploaded - and the benefit is the sequential upload of images will resolve problems you may have had with php memory limits.

Also new in EZ Autos 6.10.0 is the ability to display listings on the frontend based on vehicle make (manufacturer), and the inclusion of a new module to allow you to display the top vehicle makes or categories - with links to these listings pages. I hope you'll enjoy these new listings output options and features, as they should add some nice flexibility to your site.

My multilingual EZ Autos customers will also be happy with the integration of the core Joomla translation support, as it will mean you won't need to rely on 3PD translation components such as Falang or JoomFish.

Other new features and changes in EZ Autos 6.10.0 include a new slideshow system and some new thumbnail layouts for the full details page layout, some tweaks to the modules and how they generate links to the vehicle listings, and changes to how the listings pages are coded to fix a bug with table sorting on the Joomla 2.5x system. You'll also find the full details page PDF print page layout has been redesigned to incorporate the seller banner if using EZ Portal integration, and the PDF layout has also been simplified - to achieve a single page layout in most situations. There's also a new full details page template layout option available, and inclusion of coloured icons based on transaction type on the listings page layouts.

All customers with a current M-6 subscription have access to the new releases, and you'll find upgrade instructions are included in the user guide. Please read these - as the 6.10.0 version is now packaged with the EZ Autos modules included as part of the new and upgrade packages.

This is also a large upgrade which affects all of the EZ* addons associated with EZ Autos - so you'll need to upgrade EZ Autos, its modules, and the various companion components in use - eg. EZ Portal and its module, Autos Bookings, AutosAdverts, EZ Watchlists and EZ Feeds. You'll need to upgrade all of these due to the change in how the EZ Autos image data is stored.

Prior to beginning the upgrade - remember to make a full backup of your site and database, don't do the upgrade if you're tired, feeling irritable or short of time, and if you run into a problem - stop and post a support ticket via the helpdesk ticketing system.
