Step 1

Install the EZ Advisors component according to the Joomla extensions installation directions. Refer to the Joomla help documentation for this. Normally, you follow the Extensions->Install/Uninstall admin area menu link and then use the "upload package file" installation method.

Once that has been done, follow the components=>EZ Advisors menu link and the main listings page will open up. When you get there - click on the "Parameters" icon in the top right corner of the screen and edit the settings - then save the changes.

After the configuration settings have been sorted out - now it's time to create some question categories. Remember to publish these once you're done.

Step 4

Now that you've got your question categories entered - it's time to create some questions and answers if you want to have your Q & A system pre-populated with some common knowledge. Add these via the add/edit question form in the admin area - and publish them once you're done.

Step 5

The final step is to add some menu links - so that site visitors can access the frontend content of this component. Go into the Joomla menu manager, click on the "New" icon in the top right corner of the page, and then click the EZ Advisors link once the next page is displayed. You'll see 3 different types of menu links. The first is a link to a view that displays all of the question categories, the second is a link to a view that displays the questions listed within a single category, and the final option is a link to the frontend add question form. Only use this final option if you've enabled frontend submissions by site members.
